He was recently the chair of the Transpersonal Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society. He has always been interested in the 'farther reaches of human nature' - human potential, personal and spiritual development, and higher states of consciousness. Dr Taylor says he is fascinated by the way that people grow and transform after crises and trauma, which is the subject of his most recent book Extraordinary Awakenings: When Trauma Leads to Transformation.
His books have been published in 20 languages, and he regularly appear sin the media in the UK, including on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 5Live. His works extends to writing blog articles for Scientific American, The Conversation and Psychology Today.
