Dr Sophie Bostock is a Sleep Evangelist on a mission to unlock the science of sleep and circadian rhythms. She has degrees in Medicine and Entrepreneurship, a PhD in Psychology and is the founder of sleepscientist.com.
Sophie has always been intrigued by why what makes us feel good and function at our best. She studied medicine at Nottingham University, followed by an MSc in Entrepreneurship. She completed a PhD in Health Psychology at University College London (UCL), investigating the links between stress, happiness and heart disease. Sophie's research pointed to sleep as an unsung hero of mental and physical resilience. She joined digital medicine company, Big Health, where she became an NHS Innovation Accelerator Fellow for work on sleep improvement programme, Sleepio.com. Sophie is a passionate advocate for the importance of sleep, and evidence-based therapy. She has published research in collaboration with the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute in Oxford demonstrating the impacts of better sleep on mental health. Sophie now provides training and consultancy to help teams in business, elite sport, healthcare and the military to improve wellbeing and performance through better sleep. Sophie often features as a media sleep expert and has delivered talks for TEDx and Talks@Google.
