About Christine Farquharson

Christine Farquharson is a Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, the UK's leading economic research institute, where she researches how children develop and what government policy can do to support them.

As an economist, Christine focuses on using data to answer questions like how attending formal childcare affects children's later attainment, or how well parenting programmes promote long-run health. Inequalities in life experiences start even before birth, and lead to later inequalities in earnings, health, and happiness, so Christine is passionate about generating good evidence on what works to support all children to reach their full potential.
