“What are the most active volcanoes?”
Volcanic activity can vary significantly over time, however, some of the volcanoes that have been particularly active in recent years include:
Kilauea, United States: Kilauea, located on the island of Hawaii, has been erupting almost continuously since 1983. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has been responsible for significant property damage and volcanic hazards on the island.
Etna, Italy: Mount Etna is a stratovolcano located on the island of Sicily and is one of the most active volcanoes in Europe. It has erupted frequently over the past few centuries, with its most recent eruption beginning in December 2019.
Stromboli, Italy: Stromboli is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea that is home to a stratovolcano of the same name. The volcano has been erupting almost continuously for the past 2,000 years, making it one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
